The world’s favorite season is spring. All things seem possible in May. -Edwin Way TealeIMG_82611d508-img

Our azaleas in the garden are in full bloom right now. I love how gorgeous these flowers look. Here’s a little info I found about this beautiful flower: a strong symbol of womanhood; softness; fragility; passion; also to take care of oneself. A lovely gift for this Mother’s Day weekend, don’t you think?

This spring’s weather has been up & down- one day it’s 80 degrees, and the next it’s 45 and with a cold rain. Ugh. But, the garden has not disappointed! Here’s a look at what’s been popping up in the garden so far!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!  🙂

A few weekends ago, we went to the local greenhouse to attend their annual Orchid show. Every March, I get really antsy because winter starts getting on my nerves and all I want to see are new blooms! So this show comes at a perfect time! I can get my flowers fix while winter dredges on…

Here are a few photos from the event.

Spring Colors in the Garden

Now, here is the stuff I have been waiting for! Nice, warm sunny days, and lots of beautiful colors in the garden! The greens seem richer and bolder this time of year, before summer scorches them. The pinks and purples are more intense too. What a pretty sight it all is!

The lilies are coming!!…

It’s #tbt again… so today I found this sweet layout of me & my little Maxx from 2011. How pretty is that floral paper? Love it. And add a doily and some butterfly punches… simple, yet effective.  🙂

Grad | 1 Year Reflection

Hello!  🙂

Well, it’s been one year since I received my second degree, in graphic arts and photography. It was really one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I learned so many skills that I use pretty much every day. I am lucky to be able to use my knowledge in my current line of work too. Even if I was in a different job, I believe I would be using my design and photography skills regularly anyway. I use them for this website, when I am in the garden creating new images, or firing up Photoshop to make something.

I am happy I took that leap and went back to school. After I had been out of school for a few years, I felt like I was losing my knowledge. That sounds silly to me now, but I think I am always going to be a student. One of my life-long goals is to get a degree in every decade of my life. You can’t acquire too much knowledge or skills. I just wanted to share a reflection of this past year, and how fast it has went! Oh my!

Scrapbook Layout | Bloom On

Hello! Happy Sunday to you. As I sit here typing, it’s snowing/hailing outside. Yep, and it’s the middle of May. Not cool. It’s only for today, so I’m holding onto that thought.

I wanted to share a spring layout today. I am still busy documenting the loveliness that was our cherry tree. It’s all green now, but the photos I took will hold me over until next spring!  🙂

I used Felicity Jane and Heidi Swapp papers on my layout. They are pure bliss to me!

Scrapbook Layout | The Best Day

Hello!! Happy Thursday!

Today I wanted to share a very colorful and patterned page. I was going through my stash trying to find some paper to match this photo of my mom (one of my faves!), when I found a little bit of Basic Grey’s Grand Bazaar papers. I loved this collection when it came out a couple years ago. It was a real treasure to find, so I decided to just wipe it out and use it all on this layout. I think the colors and textures match the mood I was looking to create. And, it feels good to use some of my stash!

Scrapbook Layout | Mom & Me

Hello! Happy Tuesday! Well, May snuck right up on me, how about you? It’s still a little chilly out, but the flowers and trees are starting to bloom, so that makes everything ok in my world.

I just wanted to share a fun, colorful layout with you today. I looove the new Fancy Pants Atwell collection. This patterned paper was a must-have for me! When there is a giant design on a paper, I tend to not use it (at least right away) because big prints are intimidating to work with/around. I just went for it here. I love this photo of my mom & me from graduation last year, and the pops of color in the photo worked with the paper, in my thoughts. So, I added a little black to tone it down, and voila! A page I love.  🙂

By the way, Mother’s Day is Sunday, have you bought gifts yet? I almost all of mine wrapped. I can’t to give them to mom!
