8 Years!

Just a little note that today marks my 8th anniversary of starting my blog! I started Jenna’s Wonderland at a Blogspot address in 2009, and now I love my space here at Jen Manis Creates.

I can’t believe it’s been so long! I still enjoy sharing my crafty adventures, and can’t wait to see what’s next on my journey at my space on the web!

I thought I’d re-introduce myself to you all today with 5 things about me.

  1. I love all things related to scrapbooking, memory keeping, and planning. I have been scrapbooking since 2006.
  2. Scrapbooking led me to where I am today. I fell in love with design and photography, so I went back to school a few years ago and pursued a degree in those things!
  3. I have four beautiful little birds, who talk up a storm and keep me entertained daily! I’ve had parrots my entire life, in fact!
  4. I am an old soul. Don’t get me wrong, I love modern day conveniences (hello internet!), but I think I was meant for another era. I am inspired by the 20’s, 40’s and 50’s.
  5. I am a very proud introvert. People have tried to change me my whole life, but I am who I was meant to be!

Thanks for stopping by today & every time! Here’s to the next 8 years!

I Must Have Flowers…

I must have flowers, always, and always… -Monet

This time of year, I always start getting antsy and I need some flowers in my life. As it is snowing like crazy outside right now, I don’t think nature is going to cooperate with me today. But, I always have some silk flowers that will cheer me up, for now…

Holiday Wrap-up 2016

Hello there! I have been wanting to put this post together for about a month now (how has it been a month since Christmas??). I just wanted to wrap-up Christmas 2016 and share a few favorite photos.

My ever-so girly tree.

Athena’s Christmas dress.

Our main (upside-down) tree.

Jake was checking out the Gurglepot to make sure it was ok to have in the house.  🙂

I made these last two photos into cards on the Becky Higgins’ Project Life app. I love how easy it is to put something nice and professional looking together so easily!

That’s it for Christmas! And that’s about how quickly it goes by in real time too! Onto Valentine’s Day…

Favorite 16 of 2016!

Hello! It’s New Year’s Eve… I can’t believe 2016 is coming to a close so soon! The years go by faster and faster, I swear!

I put together my favorite layouts for the year below… I also added in some favorite planner spreads, because planning took up a lot of my creative time this year. In 2017, I plan on returning to scrapbooking more. I really miss making my 12×12 layouts! I don’t forsee my planning routine slowing down anytime soon. I’m glad about that, because I love my planners!  🙂

Enjoy my favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! See you in 2017!

It’s my Birthday! :)

Today is my special day… I’m going to spend the day doing the things I love, spending time with special people, and dreaming of the future. It’s time to make some new goals!

Cheers for the Holiday Season!

I don’t know about you, but I am super excited about all the upcoming holidays! Christmas is only 7 weeks away as of this writing, and the stores are getting all stocked up! Last week, I went around to a few places, and found holiday inspiration!

I loved Sugar Paper for Target’s line last year, and was delighted to see their new products last week!! The colors are so soft and totally my style, so I picked up a couple new things, and will probably add a few more things as the season progresses. I also found a few special things in their Bullseye’s Playground, like the wooden reindeer shapes, and the white furry pillow. Love!!

I have my eye on a couple packs of washi tape at Michael’s too… so this rose gold set had to come home with me! I was dreading not having a rose gold spread in December… but worry no more!  🙂

I also circled around the new Happy Planner/Recollections section too… but my birthday is coming up… so that’ll have to wait 10 more days!

Mom. She’s strong. She’s sassy. She’s beautiful. She’s cool. She’s fierce. She’s a quick thinker. She’s my role model. She’s my biggest fan. I don’t know what I would do without her.

Happy birthday to my mom! xoxo

Happy Fall!

I can’t believe it! Fall is here! I feel like the years keep going by faster & faster!

I am looking forward to fall because there are so many events and things to do. The Mum Fest is this weekend, then the Scrapbook Expo is coming to town next weekend. Then we have birthdays, fall festivals, and more! I can’t wait for the leaves to start turning- I will be stalking them with my camera!

What do you love about fall?

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome September

I am so excited that September is here! I think when you’re a kid, you don’t look forward to September and fall because it means you’re stuck back in school. But, as a grown-up, fall means something different. It is a time of new beginnings. You can make yourself over (just look at that stack of magazines below that will help you do that!). Fall around here is particularly beautiful, so I’m just looking forward to the signs of the changing seasons soon. And, I think we have to have a gorgeous season such as fall to prepare us for what comes next: snow!!!  🙂
